Obama Walks Back Promise On Keeping Your Private Insurance

From The Foundry:

Less than 24 hours after Heritage Foundation President Ed Feulner questioned the veracity of President Obama’s persistent claim that, under his health care proposals, “if you like your insurance package you can keep it”, the White House has begun to walk the President’s claim back. Turns out he didn’t really mean it.

According to the Associated Press, “White House officials suggest the president’s rhetoric shouldn’t be taken literally: What Obama really means is that government isn’t about to barge in and force people to change insurance.”

How’s that for change you can believe in?

Depending on how the public plan is designed in Congress, millions of Americans would lose their existing coverage. By opening the public plan to all employees and using Medicare rates, the Lewin Group, a nationally prominent econometrics firm, has said that the public plan could result in 119.1 million Americans being transitioned out of private coverage, including employer based coverage, into a public plan. With employers making the key decision, millions of Americans could lose their private coverage, regardless of their personal preferences in this matter.

When was the last time Washington passed major legislation, costing nearly $2 trillion dollars, overhauling a major sector of our economy that didn’t change our lives? Oh yeah, TARP.

Only starry eyed liberals, and that's what they are, Liberals, not progressive in any matter, would subscribe to this socialist health care plan. Liberals want to make people dependent on government for all their needs, as they truly believe they are far superior to the common man and know what they need. To those I reply, "Screw you!'

Only the dumbed down products of the government education system would fall for this plan to give the government control of our health care choices. I'm not one of them, and never will be. You see I can think for myself, and I know what the ostensible goal of these people is, and it sickens me. Those of you who view government as religion are a problem to be dealt with, and deal with you I will, in my own way, which by the way you may not like.

People need to be fearful. These healthcare are a tease. They look so good on the surface. Obama has taken away many of the aspects a single payer system to lower peoples defenses against it. But as was stated before, there is no competing with the government. The government does not pay taxes on its revenue. The government does not have the limitations of being dependant on income from premiums to be able to run. They will use it to drive the other companies out of business and slowly work us into a single payer system because there are no other options
