Only “Slight” Improvements in Canadian Wait Times

Canada’s nationalized health care system has only marginally improved in cutting the wait times in five priority health-care areas, according to Canwest News Service. Citing an annual report from the Wait Time Alliance, the article notes Canada is failing to apply targets to a broad range of specialties, with “much unfinished business” in improving the amount of time a patient waits from when he or she receives a referral for treatment from a family doctor to when that treatment is provided by a specialist.
