It is a shame that a nation rich as ours does have a basic health / medical plan for all its citizens. Now that something is in works in Congress, it was reported that Nebraska and Michigan got exemption from paying any Medicare for the State share under Reid's proposed bill recently passed by Senate. It is should be noted that:

    1. We are the only Country in the Developed World ( 1 out of 22 ) that does not provide a free health care system for all its citizens.

    2. No system in any developed Country is perfect but the fact is that basic healthcare is available in all those Countries as a birth right for its citizens.

    3. The Health Care Insurance Industry in USA is buying support by making big contributions and lobbying their State's representatives to push their agenda to dilute the law so that they are protected to keep on fleecing a vast majority who have way to control and manage their healthcare costs. It seems nobody cares for the silent majority The other side called -GOP has been the most obstructionist. It has no plan nor brains to fathom that escalating healthcare costs can bankrupt our Country

    4. For any Healthcare system to be effective it must bring about plenty of choices through competition. In the present Bill a Public Option which is only way to get the Health Care Industry to shape up was dropped. Alas, that is at behest of large Health Care providers like Aetna and Oxford who are buying State representatives like Lieberman.

    5. Nothing much will happen due present make up in the Congress and in future unless we have term limits like that for the President for all members of Congress and a total ban of lobbyists from any dealings with Congress and the Federal and State Governments.
