CNSNews.com highlights critics of a recent New York Times/CBS News poll that found broad “bipartisan” support for President Barack Obama’s health care reform, including his push for a government-run health insurance plan.

The poll, which was surveyed 895 respondents from June 12-16, reported 72 percent wanted a public health insurance option to compete with private insurance. Additionally, 50 percent of respondents said the government would do a better job providing medical coverage than private insurers, the CNSNews.com article notes.

However, critics in the article said the results are inaccurate because they are heavily skewed with Obama voters, with a population sample of 38 percent Democrats, 38 percent independents and 24 percent Republicans.

The numbers “are significantly below the 32.6 percent who identify themselves as Republican according to a May survey from the nonpartisan Rasmussen Reports,” the article says.
